Once and Future Plays
Revolutionary scripts awaiting collaborators
PUBLIKprivate
“Some private things – if we want to live – have to be made public – in the way that our bodies become public when we go outside where we will be perceived.”
This bilingual performance explores the lives of two trans ancestors who made space for themselves in their own absurd eras.
Originally written as a solo performance in 2018, eppchez toured it lightly for several years. In 2023 PlayPenn and SOL Project supported the further development of this extraordinary play. Expanding the cast to 3 performers and deepening an inquiry into the possibility of knowing ancestors that history forgot.

They Extract!
“They Extract!” is a full length work of physical theater that explores how commodification changes the resources that are most precious to us. Oil has been gone and Love™ is extracted as an energy source. The play follows a scientist and father, Vera his daughter, and the Loving Mine she falls for.

This world is strung together by spirit silk. A meditation on collective grief, personal loss and the reasons – the meanings of art.
A middle-aged Black transwoman doesn’t have to choose between her successful career as a curator of “outsider artists” and caring for her disoriented mother.
Her next “discovery” is not shaping up to be the artists that she had expected to find and seems to be seriously haunted.

Train-ing; a one troll show
Hesh wants to sing for you, amplifying all the voices of what gets caught between nature and humanity.
This one-troll show originated in 2017 by the banks of the Tulpehoken.
Alma’s engine eagerly awaits the opportunity to adapt this show to your location.
Any train bridge that goes over a river will do!
off-white : a querying of unearned advantage
This workshop uses songs, story telling and worship sharing to help communities already engaged in confronting systemic White Supremacy, to become more comfortable with the inherent discomfort of this work, and embrace the joyful parts of engaging with transformation of self and institutional structures in your in daily life. I use my own experiences and reflections as a White-passing person to notice how Whiteness functions in my life and invite participants into a vulnerable space of reflection around this topic that we have been so carefully taught to ignore.
In Progress
Gravity Play:
I think that hills are very exciting! Gravity functions differently on hills making bodies move in strange and disorienting ways, tickling my thoughts – provoking metaphors. I would like to explore how to use hills to talk about bias and micro aggression. I would like to explore how to use hills to talk about other things too. I would like to explore how this metaphor changes during different seasons – with different surfaces: grass, leaves, snow, mud. This is probably a film.
Non-binary Burlesque:
Topsy Pendejo is chaffing at the bits, inventing a theory of sexiness that is not about gender. Between burlesque, drag, boylesque, and lounge crooning there must be something else. I’m imagining a form where my glitter-phobic feral troll soul can really let fly, where my enthusiasm for designing whimsical prosthetic parts joins with movement and song parody. Audiences may surprise themselves!
In-share-itence:
American reality is splintering. The value of a dollar is apparently a matter of perspective. But risk is certainly not equally distributed. How far towards fairness does a million dollars go?
